One way to help prevent all types of cancer is to lower your bodies ph levels. I take magnesium that I get only from high end health food stores like High Health in Scottsdale Az. High Health also sells on-line but I can't rememmber their web address. I also take Royal Jelly. It has such a low ph it is very bitter and burns on the way down. I'm 74 and cancer runs in my family. I've been taking magnesium amd royal jelly since I was about 30 and I have not developed cancer. I only take the fresh, it works best, get my royal jelly from http://www.beeroyalproducts.com . They used to be called Tamara Royal Jelly. They have the best quality for the price. It will also stimulate your labido, like I said I'm 74 and still going strong.

Like they've already said, lots of fiber, low fat diet, and lots of water. The single best prevention for colon cancer is regular colonoscopy. If you have a family history of colon cancer, you should have a colonoscopy at the age of 40 or 10 years before your family member was diagnosed with colon cancer...whichever comes first. If you don't have a family history of cancer, the American College of Gastroenterologists recommend having a screening colonoscopy at the age of 50. When you have your colonoscopy, the doctor will tell you how soon you need to have another one. Depending on what they find, it may be 1, 3, 5, or 10 years.

Lots of clear water, fiber, fruits and vegetables, etc. All of these are very helpful in keeping a healthy colon. However, there are still no guarantees you wont get colon cancer. My father was the healthiest eater I have ever known. He always was eating high fiber foods, all the things necessary for good colon health and he still developed colon cancer and died of it. It took him down in the matter of less than a year after being diagnosed. He was the LAST person on earth that I would have ever guessed would get colon cancer. So..it shows you should still eat high fiber foods, etc anyways just to make sure your colon gets the chance to stay clean and healthy. Without them your chances of colon cancer are even higher.
