Cancer lives in an acidic environment. Vegetables/fruits among other things are alkaline and keep the body balanced in this acidic world. If your colon is clean you lead a much healthier and happier life. Most health problems start in the colon. If the bad stuff doesn't get out, then is stays in your body. Check out this website. Many have found answers to a happy colon - and many other health problems they didn't think were related.

To lessen your risk of getting any type of cancer, a diet high in vitamin-rich fruits and vegetables is important (remember, the darker the color, the better ie romain lettuce is way better than iceburg lettuce) and try to get lots of different colors each day. Also whole grains are important; limit processed carbs. Exercise regularly Don't smoke Diets rich in fiber are particularly beneficial in reducing your risk of colon cancer. (You should cut back amimal fats.) If you have a family history of colon cancer, be sure to tell your doctor. Usually they will begin screening for it (and polyps) at 40 or 45 rather than the standard 50.
