What side effects should one expect with chemotherapy for stage-4 colon cancer

What side effects should one expect with chemotherapy for stage-4 colon cancer?
My loved one has stage-4 colon cancer. They removed 18" of his colon, but it has spread to the liver and throughout his abdomen. Please help me to know what to expect. He starts chemo tomorrow. Any knowledge would be most appreciated.

Nausea, fatigue and hair loss. Surely the side effects will be explained when he goes for the chemo...

hello, i can understand what u r going through, i to had a patrent with that kind of cancer and i must be honest with u, it get better before it get worst. i took care of my father up until 4 days before he died, it will get to a point where he will not be able to walk or do the things he use to do, he will also become bed riden. it's a sad thing to go through, but in the end u will have to let go, i know it may sound funny to u, but i prayed to god to take him, cuz he was in so much pain and i didn't want to see him like that. it hurts and i know, but the best thing u can do is be there for them ok

My mother has stage-4 colon cancer. She has dropped down to about 95lbs from her chemo treatments. Other side effects I have noticed are sores on her face, can't stay awake for more than an hour, lots of pain (she takes 2 oxycottons just to keep the pain tolerable), nausea, vomiting, and constipation. It's hard to watch the pain that she has endured through her chemo treatments and she's been thinking about stopping them, but without the treatment she could be gone next week. My mothers cancer has also spread to her liver and abdomen as well as he lymph nodes and lung. She is having radiation beads put in her liver next week and has also undergone a surgery that cuts all nerve endings off from her major organs. The biggest effects from chemo is pain. I'm sorry your loved one has this its hard on everyone around.

that depends on the chemo regiment that he's put on, but I'll agree with fatigue and nausea being the most common side effects.
