unfortunately, any cancer has the possibility of forming a metasteses (secondarys). Stage 1 is a very good stage as it is the earliest. You will have to wait until you get the results Keep positive for your dad

Stage 1 implies that the cancer is confined to one part of the colon. However, ANY cancer can spread. When Cancer has spread from another organ to the lungs, you would be at stage 4 cancer in most circumstances. 90% of colon cancer cases that are caught in Stage 1 are fully cured with surgery and possibly chemo. So the odds are very low anything will show up in his x-ray.

Yes any cancer can spread, but not at any stage. If his cancer has been staged it means he has already had surgery and once it was removed so was the cancer. No further treatment is needed and the cancer cannot spread. Your second question is what are the chances of him having lung cancer? That we cannot answer as you do not mention any risk factors. Clearly something is going on you do not understand. Your dad would have had an abdominal CT as part of his colon cancer work up before he had his surgery. If he is having a chest CT now it is not related to his colon cancer. You should go to a doctors appointment with him to discuss your concerns with his doctor yourself.
