What does it mean if i had a dream that i was diagnosed with colon cancer

What does it mean if i had a dream that i was diagnosed with colon cancer?
I am the most illness and medical problem free person i have known in my 30+ years, despite leading a horribly unhealthy lifestyle. I dont recall seeing anything in the media lately about colon cancer, here in Australia the focus tends to be on skin, breast and prostate cancer.

They have had a lot of advertisements lately about colon cancer. That's probably why you are dreaming about it. At your age, I would think it is highly unlikely that you would have colon cancer. Just chalk it up as a nightmare. If you are still worried, you can always go to the doctor. But I doubt if you need to. You seem to be healthy enough. Usually, they don't even screen you for that until your over your 40's. Don't worry.

As a mental health professional with 20+ years experience, now retired, I can tell you with all clinical confidence that it means only that you had a dream that you were diagnosed with colon cancer, or any other story you want to make up and believe. Dreams mean only that you were able to sleep in the deepest and most peaceful level of sleep that is available to human beings, which is the area where dreams occur, and nothing more, unless you want to assign some significance to a dream you had, which would have the statistical reliability and validity of the Pinocchio story. Relax. Then you'll be able to sleep wonderfully at peace again, and enjoy all kinds of other stories that your mind can concoct. As Mark Twain said in the opening of his book "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", "Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot." God Bless you.

There are two possibilities here: 1) It could be a message from your subconscious to get a check-up. Edgar Cayce used to say that dreams about the body were particularly significant and were often messages to attend to health issues in waking life. 2) It could be symbolic. To dream that you have cancer denotes feeling hopelessness, grief, self-pity, and unforgiveness. You may feel as though you are wasting your life away. The dream could also represent areas in your life which are bothering you, disturbing you, and hurting you in some emotional way.
