My cousin is taking Erbitux chemotherapy for colon cancer. He is in constant pain. His pain did not begin until he started Erbitux therapy. He has a facial rash now and terrible pain. Can Erbutix cause pain? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I was in a study to see if Erbitux would help in stage 3 to prevent colon cancer from spreading to other organs in the first place. I didn't have pain, but I had rashes on my face and chest. I was told by the oncologist that this is the very most common side effect. In fact they even told both groups (Erbitux group and control group) which group they were in, because the rash was so common they'd figure it out in a heartbeat. I didn't have pain with the Erbitux, but there are 2 good sites to check out to see what other side effects are common. Cancer.gov, the website for the National Cancer Institute, tells anything you want to know about cancer, treatments, and experimental treatments. Another good site is macmillan.org.uk.

try chemocare.com it has each drug in leimans terms so you can understand it. Rash is normal with that drug unfortunately Usually a good sign that it is working
