Can lower abdominal cramping (like menstrual craps) on right side be a symptom of colon cancer

Can lower abdominal cramping (like menstrual craps) on right side be a symptom of colon cancer?
There are no other symptoms. No bleeding, constipation or diarhea. This has been happening on and off for about a month. Worse after eating. Have had hysterectomy.

Colon cancer rarely has symptoms other than bleeding. I suspect you may have diverticulitis, or possibly a cyst on your ovary. Go see your physician. A thorough exam will pinpoint the problem.

Most colonic 'problem' symptoms are on the left. There can be quite a few other explanations for pain like this and I would encourage your to go see your physician so they can help you investigate further and alleviate this worrying! Could be related to... ovaries, irritable bowel, bladder, UTI.....

If it's on the lower right side, it may also be your appendix. Definitely go the to doctor and get it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

Colon cancer DOES have other symptoms. Not only bleeding. I has stage 3 cc and DID NOT have bleeding. I had unusual aches, cramps etc. After a resection and 6 months of chemo I had the same symptoms again and that turned out to be an ovarian cyst. You should insist on a colonoscopy just to be sfae, this can save your life. I was in my early 40's but I have friends with cc in their teens, 20's and 30's. Go to the colonclub.org forum. Good luck!

Haley, this exact same thing happened to my daughter. I begged her to see the Dr. I really thought she had appendicitis. She kept saying, "Mom, you're a nurse, not a doctor." True but I do know the symptoms of appendicitis and it looked like it. After about a month, I got a call from the hospital from her husband, she was rushed into the hospital by ambulance with ruptured appendix. Thankfully she didn't get a serious infection because her surgeon cleaned her out good. You see, when it ruptures, pus comes out and sometimes will cause a very, serious infection and you could end up very sick. Now, do you have this. I don't know, but you should see a Dr because you don't have the signs of colon cancer. Good luck. ADD so you already had the hysterectomy which makes me thing even more that you have an appendix problem

Do the following to get relief from stomach problems. Do not sleep for at least 2 hours after a meal. This is most important. 1. First 3 days Drink 3 glasses of water before each meal. So total should be 9 glasses a day. Stop all other liquids. For example if you take lunch at 2.00 pm, take 1 glass each at 12.30, 1.00 and 1.30 pm. Some deviations from suggested times are ok. Do not drink water after 7 PM. 2. Next 2 days Reduce water intake to 6 glasses day. 2 Glasses before each meal. 3. Next 2 days Reduce water intake to 3 glasses day. 1 Glasses before each meal. 4. Next 2 days Drink 1 glass of water in the entire day. 5. Next Repeat 3 and 4 again and again. After 1 month repeat 2,3,4 and 5.

Colon cancer can have many symptoms. However, in the early stages, people with colon cancer often have no symptoms at all. This is why people should know how colon cancer spread and regular screening beginning at 50 is an important investment in your healthy future. 1. A change in bowel habits 2. Diarrhea, constipation or feeling that the bowel does not empty completely 3. Blood, either bright red or very dark in the stool 4. Stools that are narrower than usual 5. General abdominal discomfort such as frequent gas pains, bloating, fullness or cramps 6. Weight loss with no known reason 7. Constant tiredness 8. Vomiting
