Because some blood work showed that I'm anemic (never have been before), my doctor wants to do a colonoscopy and a endoscopy. I'm completely freaking out wondering if he thinks I might have colon cancer or something. I've not seen any blood when going to the bathroom, but I know that doesn't always happen. If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Any type of cancer either benign or malignant is really never a good thing so your docter completely has a reason to be worried. If you do have colon cancer, which I hope you don't, then you can get treatment. look at my source for information on colon cancer, and also look through the other pages at the link(it is on page 3). hope this helps

If he really thought it was colon cancer why do an endoscopy at all? If being anemic is your only symptom, I doubt he thinks you have cancer he probably has no diagnosis in mind at all as there is no information to base one on. He wants the tests as he suspects you may be bleeding internally and the tests are needed to see if the reason and location of the bleeding can be found. Bleeding can be caused for numerous reasons and cancer is only one of them. The link below will give you information about colon cancer. http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/types/colon-and-rectal

As the above answerer says, if the doc thought it could be colon cancer, he wouldn't do an endoscopy.
