My mom died from colon cancer...blood doesn't necessary mean cancer..it could mean other issues but you won't know unless you go to the doctor

Blood is not necessarily colon cancer. You most likely have hemorrhoids - which are easily fixed. See a doctor. I have had hemorrhoids and the sooner you see a doctor the sooner they can get fixed. They will get worse if you don't. Personal experience - I had to have one surgically removed. There are good tests out there for colon cancer to catch it early before it hurts you. When you're old enough and get them, you should be okay. My father had colon cancer, but they caught it in time and he survived it. The tests are required at age 50, but if your parents had any signs of colon cancer or it's in your family, you have to get it earlier (in your 30s) which I did. If someone does not get the colon cancer tests (colonoscopy) regularly, they will get colon cancer. Colon cancer does not show signs until it is too late to cure and most people die from it.

Colon cancer is cancer of the colon. The colon is what we call the large intestine. Pretty much the last part of your bowel before it becomes the rectum and anus. The reason why people tend to bleed when they have colon tumors is because these tumors (we call them polyps) tend to get irritated and bleed with trauma from stool or as they get bigger. Polyps progress from benign to malignant and yes colon cancer can kill you. Like any other cancer it spreads to your liver and other parts of your body if not detected early and does become terminal. It is the 2nd most common cancer in men and women. The age it usually starts to show up is in your 50s. Some patients have hereditary predisposition to colon cancer and can get it in their teens. On the other hand, there are many other reasons why people have blood in their stool. Hemorrhoids, rectal fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, gastric ulcers, even trauma from wiping too hard. If you are worried and under 50, then talk to your doctor about your family history and if necessary getting screened for it. The screening test most reliable is a colonoscopy. It is recommended for everyone over 50 (because of how prevalent colon cancer is in our society) and people younger if they have risk factors or have a positive family history.

Hi there , you could have what we call "Hemorrhoids" , My suggestion is to eat wheat bread and take colace stool softeners , increase your fluid intakes , especially water and juices ..Hemorrhoids are tiny blood vessels that break when we have hard bowel movements .. Also , I would recommend that you look for signs of: 1 .. Severe stomache pain or cramps 2.. constipation 3.. diarrhea a lot 4.. nausea 5. sharp pain wakening you up 6 . weight loss 7 ..loss of appeptite
