Cancer survival depends on so many factors. I'd say nobody could tell with approximation. Instead of worrying about how long he'll live; worry about helping him feel good and be there for him; this would be the only thing a friend could and should do.

Stage 4 is not good but my Father in law lived almost 2 years with stage 4 in his liver and kidney's. It mostly depends on how fast it spreads and the type of treatment he receives...they are doing amazing things in research right now so he might be able to live quite a while...

A lot of factors count like his current underlying problems aside from the cancer but with treatment,it will be good if he can reach 5 years but only the Lord knows for sure.Miracle happens
